Types of Waveguide Components

Waveguide components are devices that guide waves, like electromagnetic waves, microwave, and sound waves. These components let a signal to propagate with minimal loss of energy as they restrict the expansion in one dimension or two. These devices are available with multiple ports and can be bought according to the requirement.

Circulators

Circulators propagate the signal from one port to another. These are three and four-port waveguide components. Circulators are designed utilize ferrite technology which directs electromagnetic wave or microwave to a specific port based on the direction of wave propagation. A three-port circulator can also be made into an isolator by placing the load on the port where reflected energy is directed.

Isolators

Isolators shield the input in the equipment from the effects of the signal or microwave on the output. These are two and three-port devices which transmit microwave energy between ports. Meanwhile, they direct reflected energy to a port with an attached load. These are used in many industrial heating applications. It is used to protect the magnetron from over-heating caused by the reflected energy.

Waveguide Loop Couplers

Waveguide Loop Couplers are best used in RF microwave applications to fulfil the requirements of high power sensing. Single arm waveguide loop couplers are also available with SMA or Type-N connectors. You can also find multi-arm models.

Find the Rectangular waveguide loop couplers that cover full waveguide frequency with coupling values of 30db to 60db. Also, find double ridge waveguide loop couplers, pressure sealed loop couplers.

These are a few common types of Waveguide Components. Many others are available online with varied features and different specifications.
